What is Make a Dash?
Youth Entrepreneurship Assistant Scheme (WeVenture – “Make a Dash” in CUHK) is a new initiative by Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) to support youth entrepreneurship in Hong Kong and/ or Greater Bay Area (GBA). The start-up capital provides full-time and part-time undergraduate, postgraduate students and alumni with up to HKD 600,000 per team. This 9-month funding scheme (to be ended in April 2022) offers a comprehensive, in-depth incubation programme (supported by Shenzhen Research Institute, SZRI and GungHo Space) and sustainable counselling services to the funded teams to further develop their business in GBA.
The Knowledge Transfer Office, on behalf of CUHK, manages this funding with Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE) for students and young professors to start or develop their business regardless of nature. We recommend the eligible companies and monitor their progress to ensure the proper use of the funding. 13 companies have been nominated after the team interview and were granted with funding in July 2021.
